Mini-curso Experimental Tests of General Relativity
O Prof. George McCurrach Keiser, Senior Research Scientist da Universidade de Stanford, pesquisador visitante especial (PVE) pelo CsF da CAPES, projeto coordenado pelo Prof. Manuel Malheiro, estará visitando o Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica durante o mês de Junho de 2013. Neste período ministrará um mini-curso de 6 aulas, intitulado \\\"Experimental Tests of General Relativity\\\" todas as 2as. e 5as. feiras das 16:00 as 17.00h na Divisão de Ciências Fundamentais do ITA, sala 20107 na Ala 0 do prédio da Física. Experimental Tests of General Relativity

Over the past century, a small number of remarkable experiments and observations have verified the general theory of relativity. Because gravitation is the weakest known force in nature, these experiments are particularly susceptible to measurement errors as well as systematic experimental errors. These lectures will review the experiments that have place general relativity on a firm experimental foundation and discuss the prospect for improved accuracy as well as new discoveries.

2. Gravitational Defection of Light and the Gravitational Redshift
3. Shapiro Time Delay and Lunar Laser Ranging
4. Measurement of the Lense-Thirring Effect
5. The Binary Pulsar and Gravitational Radiation
6. Tests of Gravitational Forces at Short Distances and the Equivalence Principle
